TIMING
Live timing mats will be located at the start line, tag zone and at the finish line. All timing results will be available live online by team name. Each relay member will have the same bib number, but will record separate times. You’re welcome to run in whichever order you choose. We will place a timing chip on the back of your bib to associate each runner with a lap of the course.
AGE
You must be 12 years of age or older to take part in the team relay event.
LAPS
The full 21km course is made up of 2 laps each lap is 10.5km in length. Team member 1 completes a lap then tags team member 2 who completes their lap.

Any remaining gear will be taken back to our event warehouse until Monday 4 February, and if not collected by this time will be donated to Charity.
AWARDS & PRIZES
All awards and spot prizes are awarded at the prize-giving which will take place at 12noon on Sunday 20 January at Villa Maria. All team members will be eligible for spot prizes and these will be randomly drawn at the awards. You must be in attendance to claim your prize. We will be giving non-monetary prizes to the top 3 teams. Both team relay members will receive a Finishers Medal.
LATE ENTRIES
Late entries will be accepted at Villa Maria on Saturday from 1:00pm to 5:00pm and on Sunday from 6:00am to 8:30am. All late entries will incur a $10 late fee. No eftpos available, cash or cheque.
HOW THE TAG/EXCHANGE WORKS
Relay exchange zone is located beside the start/finish line and is identifiable with Team Relay fencing, and a “relay exchange zone” arch. When you arrive to the relay exchange zone you will wait for your runner to arrive to “tag” you to start running. There’s no special trick to the tag, a high-five or sweaty hug will do. We can track the exchange using nearby timing systems.
FINISHING AS A TEAM
We strongly encourage our teams to cross the finish line together. 50meters before the finish line chute is a “relay meet up zone” This is marked with Team relay flags. In this area relay members can wait for their team member and cross the line together. Each relay member will be given a medal in the finish line chute.
CHANGING A RELAY MEMBER
If you have a relay member on your team that are unable to compete you are able to change relay team members. This must be done on Saturday, during packet pick-up at Villa Maria from 1pm-5pm. Just talk to our timer at the information desk who will change you in our database.
PLEASE NOTE
Due to the terrain of the courses, strollers/prams, wheelchairs, scooters, bikes cannot be used. Accompanying animals are not allowed on course. Walkers are welcome to enter. Please ensure walkers start at the back behind the runners and keep to the side at all times.
